Lectio from the office of St Anne
Deus, qui beátæ Annæ grátiam conferre dignátus es, ut Genitrícis unigeniti Fílii tui mater effici mererétur : concéde propítius ; ut, cujus solemnia celebramus, ejus apud te patrociniis adjuvemur. Per eúmdem Dóminum.
O God, who didst vouchsafe to give grace to blessed Saint Anne that she might be worthy to bear the Mother of thine only begotten Son : mercifully grant that we who rejoice in the observance of her feast day, may by her intercession find favour in thy sight. Through the same.
Feast of St. Anne
Saint Anne is my chief confirmation patron (Anthony of Padua being secondary...Anne, Anthony, Anne is the name I took) and so today is particularly special to me.
The other day Mark asked "who is your favorite saint?" My answer...I have many "favorites" but I have a particular devotion to St. Anne (and have for as long I can remember).
Unfortunately I'm working both jobs today...a grueling day from 8:00am-10:00pm so I won't be able to make Mass. Perhaps those of you who will be able to attend Mass can remember me.
Hopefully I'll post more before I leave for work in the morning.
