Step 1: Get your playlist (or Itunes library) together, put it on random, and play.
Step 2: Write down the first line from the first 20 songs that play or close to it.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song the lines come from. (Title and Composer/Artist)
Step 4: Cross out the songs when someone guesses correctly
NO GOOGLING FOR ANSWERS!!! <----Punishable by DEATH
Os justi meditabiturBones, sinking like stones- She comes to me at night when I'm sleeping
Yeaahhh....All is quiet on (title of the song)Hello darkness my old friendWho will love a little sparrow...?- Jesus, tell my Father I want to be His child again
- O Euchari ubi cum Filio Dei mansisti
I'm not alone 'cause the T.V.'s on yeah- Caritas habundat in omnia
Ave, formosissimaJessica's Polka/The Procrastination Polka (for this obscure one I'm giving the title since it's instrumental - you have to guess the album. HINT: I'm pretty sure only fellow domers and my siblings stand a chance)- What to do? What to say? Shall you carry our treasure away?
Summer has come and pastThis is for all you girls...In the town where I was born live a man who sailed to sea- I've a friend, he's mostly made of pain
- When the dark wood fell before me, And all the paths were overgrown
Yeah yeah, hooooohh whooohhoo hoohhoo whoohooowho oooohooo whooohooo whoohooo (can any dork get it just from that? :-P If not I'll give the first line of real words that follows what I just wrote) REAL FIRST LINE: High, Higher than the sun- My heart is beating from me, I am standing all alone
My bets are that Claire (the dork) will get a quarter of these the second she looks at them and that Anna has a pretty good shot at the ones in Latin
My playlist is really narrow actually. Now if I ripped all 100some of my CDs and then put my playlist on random you'd probably get a totally different list. Nevertheless, this is some of the stuff I listen to the most, plus some other randomness from here and there.
*Edit at 7:30* ok, it appears that I have to give the actual words for #19: High, Higher than the sun
Good work to the Claires so far!

The only one's I would stake my life on are the Beatles and Simon&Gfunk ones.
I don't even want to imagine what this list would look like for my collection
I believe that there's a U2 in there with New Year's Day... I also can't believe Claire (the Dork) hasn't gotten to that one before me!
All right, here we go. :)
2: Coldplay, Don't Panic
5: Simon & Garfunkel, The Sound of Silence
6: S&G, Sparrow
9: Jimmy Eat World, Bleed American
14: Green Day, Wake Me Up When September Ends
16: The Beatles, Yellow Submarine
Claire (not dork): I'm a little embarassed to admit that I didn't get the U2. :p Perhaps I should listen to them some more...
*about to embarrass self*
is #15 the Martina McBride song?
(I really don't know how it got into my playlist. Honest.)
Ave formosissima is from Carmina Burana! :)
Ohh, ohh, and isn't Os justi "the mouth of the just shall announce thy praise" or something??
Syntax note, You are from Maryland Mary, we say Y'all. We do not say You All, that is how those crazy midwesterners talk. Cant wait until you come back to Maryland,
KK
Ahahahahaha I love you Kellian! Yes you are right! I'm sorry for my poor grammer. Ah the midwest has corrupted my fine but subtle Baltimore accent :-P
And Anna, your on the right track with Os Justi (because yeah that's the title) but I need a composer!
#15 This one's for the girls by Martina McBride
and sadly that is all I know.
Oh, oh, I know #1, but that's because I sang it with you at the concert this fall. Yay, Bruckner!
heehee! yes, Emily! I was waiting for you to get that one!
Oooh, oooh.
19 is "Elevation". Score one for the old folks!
heehee sure! although, this kid is one huge U2 fan ;)
Mary Liz,
Please see my blog about the Christian allegory in U2 music.
;)
In Christ,
Cathy
Thanks! That post is really awesome. Some of that stuff I had realized, some of it I had no clue about! (uno, dos, tres catorce) -And the J333 stuff too.
Very Cool!!
For any other curious kids here's the link: http://wardweb.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_wardweb_archive.html
Ha! You were right Mary Elizabeth, your littlest sibling has a go at two of your songs. 12 is (without looking at the CD case,I'm serious!) from "Here Come the Irish". From my experience visiting Notre Dame they sell it all over the gift shop. #15 is "this one's for the girl's" song sung by Martina McBride.
:-) That's my girl! :-)
