Catholic Sun

Wherever the Catholic sun doth shine,
There’s always laughter and good red wine.
At least I’ve always found it so.
Benedicamus Domino!
~ Hilaire Belloc

Matthew of the Holy Whapping and I were out the other night celebrating the birthdays of two friends. Matt, being the visionary he is had the idea and started photographing our other friend's Dominican rosary and the pints. I decided to take the idea further, so I stole Matt's camera, the pints, the rosary, then threw in my claddagh and Emily's school ring. We played with them for a while until we got it perfect - credit for the image is pure teamwork. Some minor photoshopping by Matt and I was done to enhance the claddagh which was washed out and convert the image to black and white.

Result: Catholic culture to the max!

Black and White: Dominican just like the rosary! (and some of us too)
Rosary: Devotion to Our Lady!
ND Ring: Love thee Notre Dame! The best Catholic university - even if it needs to work on some things.....go Irish!
Claddagh: An Irish symbol friendship, loyalty, love -of course on the crucifix since it all belongs to Jesus.
Murphy's Stout: more Irish, more Catholic.

Ooooh...that turned out real nice. You give me way too much credit. It was your camera angle that did it. But always glad to be the visionary! :-)

oooh! that picture was taken really well! I like the symbolism too. I knew what you were saying about the claddagh, because at first (I took a quick look though) I was like, "Where is it? I don't see it." lol, now I see it! Looks good!
